Dry ground and outside water can make a hidden leak harder to read in Tye.
Long dry stretches in Tye can leave an active leak beneath soil or a slab showing as a damp area that persists, or as a small change in nearby vegetation. Those clues deserve attention, but they are not proof of a plumbing leak on their own.
Moisture near a foundation or along a buried pipe also comes from irrigation, runoff, or drainage after rain. Before treating a wet spot as a leak, we separate water entering from outside from a drain-side problem and from a loss on the pressurized supply line.
That process follows the plumbing system rather than the visible patch alone. We check for ongoing water use with fixtures off, then narrow the affected part of the system before opening finishes, concrete, or soil. The aim is to find out where water is actually going before repair work begins.
