The water condition needs to lead the equipment choice
Mineral-bearing water is common across much of west-central Texas, but mineral buildup alone does not identify everything present in a water supply. Scale on a faucet, cloudy glassware, or buildup inside a water heater points toward hardness or another dissolved-mineral concern. It does not establish which constituents need treatment or whether a softener, filter, or another approach fits the property.
Water sources can differ from one Potosi property to the next, so a system chosen simply because it works for another home can solve the wrong problem. We start with the specific condition and the intended outcome: reducing scale on fixtures and water-heating equipment, improving taste or odor, catching sediment, or treating a confirmed contaminant.
The system also has to suit how water is used in the house. Flow demand, drain requirements for regenerating equipment, and routine maintenance all affect the choice. Equipment that is undersized or poorly matched can create pressure and service problems of its own, even when the equipment is meant to improve the water.
